The mission
Authentic knowledge, faithfully transmitted
Amanah is not a general “Islamic chatbot.” It is an educational and research tool for students and scholars of the Islamic sciences (and for the sincere seeker), grounded in naql, faithful transmission.
A general AI answers from a vast, unverified memory. It will, with confidence, present an unauthentic ḥadīth or a ruling with no chain, then shield itself behind a disclaimer. Amanah does the opposite. It draws only from a verified corpus of classical works, quotes and cites the exact source and author, stays within the four madhāhib and the recognised schools of creed, and, most importantly, declines when it has no verified source rather than guess. It transmits; it does not opine, grade ḥadīth, or issue fatwā.
How it helps
A research instrument, not just a place to ask
Compare the tafsīr
Read a single āyah alongside the explanations of several mufassirūn (al-Ṭabarī, Ibn Kathīr, al-Qurṭubī and others) side by side, in one view.
Foundations of a ruling
Trace a fiqh ruling to the uṣūl and qawāʿid on which it rests, so a student sees not only the ruling, but why.
Depth in ḥadīth & Qurʾān
Read a ḥadīth with its classical commentary (sharḥ) and the meaning of its uncommon words (gharīb). The same depth for the Qurʾān.
The sciences of the heart
Transmit the teachings of taṣawwuf and tazkiyah from the recognised masters: al-Ghazālī’s Iḥyāʾ, al-Qushayrī’s Risāla, the Ḥikam of Ibn ʿAṭāʾillāh.
Its boundaries
Built to be trusted
Our intention
A trust, not a business
Amanah is not a commercial venture. We seek no investment and offer none; we ask for no funding of any kind. Our hope is simply that it be a ṣadaqa jāriya, a work في سبيل الله, fī sabīlillāh, that serves the knowledge of the Ummah.
أمانة (amāna) means a trust. The name is the mission.
For scholars and institutions
Amanah is only as trustworthy as the scholarship behind it. We are building it with, and reviewing it under, qualified scholars, and it will not reach the public until they stand behind it. If you would like to guide this work, we would be honoured to hear from you.
